Aside from the different phases in designing a project there is a list of things I like to always keep in mind when working on a project. As a reference and helpful tool I thought I would create a post dedicated to that. 

• Who are we designing for?

• Why? 

• What is the issue to solve, if any?

• What is the concept direction?

• What is the end goal?

• Liabilities, code restrictions, limits, budgets

• Time Frames & deadlines

• Expectations for the design from the client, brand, etc.

• Sustainability of the design

• Longevity of design. Design should last, and not date easily

• Communication with everyone involved

• Documentation, not referring to construction documentation but to documentation of meetings, changes, submittals, RFI’s, emails, confirmations,etc.

• Time management for deadlines and punctuality

• Keeping lists to track things down

• Knowing hot keys for programs to help work more efficiently
